A well-stocked, well-organised crash cart saves time when time matters most. This webinar shows you how to set one up and keep it ready.
You’ll learn the purpose of the crash cart and why it is not just for CPR, then work through the drug drawer: adrenaline, atropine and glycopyrrolate, midazolam and diazepam, alfaxalone and propofol, the reversal agents naloxone, atipamezole and flumazenil, lidocaine, frusemide, calcium gluconate, sodium bicarbonate and methocarbamol, with why and when each is used. You’ll also cover administration tools, the airway drawer, RECOVER cheat sheets and CPR recording sheets.
You’ll then look at fluids that may be kept on a larger cart (isotonic and hypertonic crystalloids, 50% glucose and colloids), the pressure bag, an IV access drawer, and emergency procedure kits for nasal prongs, tracheostomy and thoracocentesis. The webinar finishes with ABCDEF drawer labelling, crash cart maintenance and the equipment that should be kept close by.
