Thoracic radiographs are some of the most common images taken in general practice, emergency and specialist hospitals. This webinar looks at why they are taken, including checking for metastasis and trauma such as pneumothorax, and why the patient must be straight, level and not rotated for the vet to assess symmetry. It compares good and poor radiographs and covers collimation, exposure factors and the views needed for a full thoracic series.
It then looks at why patients can be hard to position and finishes with positioning aids, including troughs, mats, sandbags, foam wedges, ropes and ties, and how to use them safely.
