This webinar covers why we bandage and what to decide before starting, including the extent and duration of the bandage, wound or fracture, and open or closed toe. It explains how to prepare the limb, the three layers of a bandage and what each one does, and how to place stirrups so they hold.
It then works through technique, using photos to show smooth, snug cast padding, shaping the limb into a cylinder, locking in a splint and applying vet wrap without tension. It finishes with finishing touches, bandage evaluation and common bandage sores.
Presented by Brian Goleman at the 2025 ACVN Nurse Conference (Surgical stream).
Includes the full recording (49 minutes), the presentation slides as a PDF, and a quiz. Pass the quiz to receive a certificate worth 1 AVNAT point.
