This webinar works through the orthopaedic procedures vet nurses commonly help with and the equipment each one needs. It starts with cranial cruciate ligament rupture, stifle anatomy and the cranial drawer and tibial compression tests, then compares the repair options: extracapsular lateral suture stabilisation (De Angelis), Tightrope, TPLO, TWO, TTA, TTO and the modified Marquet procedure.
It also covers patella luxation and its surgical corrections, surgical preparation of the stifle, corrective osteotomies, osteochondritis dissecans, hip procedures including femoral head and neck excision and total hip replacement, arthrodesis, bone grafts, amputation and limb sparing.
Presented by Nicola Wilkinson at the 2024 ACVN Nurse Conference (Surgical stream).
Includes the full recording (1 hour 3 minutes), the presentation slides as a PDF, and a quiz. Pass the quiz to receive a certificate worth 1 AVNAT point.
