Neonatal kittens rely on their carer for warmth, food and toileting, and they can go downhill quickly. This webinar covers the equipment needed for fostering, kitten development across weeks one to four, how to sex a kitten, bottle feeding, toileting and infection control, and record keeping.
The critical care section covers fading kittens, hypothermia, hypoglycaemia, constipation and diarrhoea, including what to do first and when to get veterinary help. It finishes with when and how to wean.
Presented by Cherie Murdoch at the 2024 ACVN Nurse Conference (Critical Care stream).
Includes the full recording (1 hour 8 minutes), the presentation slides as a PDF, and a quiz. Pass the quiz to receive a certificate worth 1 AVNAT point.
