This webinar covers the parts of an extraoral examination of the head and neck, and the difference between a conscious and an anaesthetised intraoral examination. It then explains the modified Triadan system: how the mouth is divided into quadrants and how each tooth is numbered from the midline outward.
It goes on to dental charting, including what is recorded in pre-treatment charting, how tooth mobility and furcation involvement are graded, and why no dental should go ahead without a chart. It finishes with the symbols commonly used on dental charts for missing, fractured, planned and extracted teeth.
Presented by Samantha Amos as part of the ACVN webinar series.
