This webinar explains what an ECG records and walks through each part of the PQRST complex, from depolarisation of the SA node and atria to repolarisation of the ventricles. It covers why waves deflect up or down, why the T wave is variable in small animals, and why atrial repolarisation is rarely seen.
It then looks at a normal trace and common abnormal traces: sinus arrhythmia, bradycardia, tachycardia, second degree AV block and ventricular premature complexes. It finishes with troubleshooting interference, upside down traces and no trace, and practice at identifying traces.
