Overwhelm is common, and it is manageable. This webinar gives you tools you can use in the moment and habits that build resilience over time.
You’ll start with what overwhelm is, what can trigger it and its common symptoms, such as anxiety, numbness and a reduced ability to cope or make rational decisions. You’ll then look at stress and the body, including the flight, fight, freeze or fawn response, and how unresolved stress can build up into poor sleep, digestive issues, chronic pain, burnout and compassion fatigue.
Next comes creating calm: restoring emotional safety in the short term through breathing, grounding, time in nature, movement and reassurance, getting back to objective thinking once the body has settled, and replacing negative thoughts with positive questions and reassuring statements. The second part focuses on self-care as the key to balance and resilience, with ideas for things that nourish you, self-reflection questions, wellbeing resources and a guided meditation if time allows.
