No two days in general practice are the same. This webinar gives you an honest look at the role, from the work clients see to everything they don’t.
You’ll start with the expectations of general practice, using the ‘vet nurses are like icebergs’ model to show the roles clients see, such as reception, admissions and discharges, clinics and post-operative checks, and the many roles they do not see, from lab technician and radiographer to anaesthetist, phlebotomist, pharmacist and ward nurse. You’ll cover the top 10 illnesses seen in dogs and cats in general practice and the common urgent and routine procedures.
You’ll then look at client relationships and being part of a pet’s journey from beginning to end, managing staff relationships, the impacts of COVID-19 on clinics, support services to contact if you are struggling, and the non-nursing duties that are part of GP life, such as insurance claims, accounts, reminders, social media and stocktake.
