Small details make a big difference to a grieving family. This webinar shows you how to get them right, and how to look after yourself and your team along the way.
You’ll follow the euthanasia process from the nurse’s point of view: the booking conversation, including what information to collect and the choices owners may want time to think about; setting up the room for client and patient comfort with consent and payment arranged; and packing a kit for home euthanasia. You’ll then look at preparing the patient with an IV catheter, treats, possible sedation and owner requests, supporting owners through the appointment, and aftercare such as mementos, cremation or burial choices and checking contact details.
The webinar finishes with support after the euthanasia: ashes collection, the stages of grief, and self-care, debriefing and support for yourself and your team.
Presented by Jennifer Peart, BSc (Animal Biology), Cert IV RVN, Cert IV TAE.
