Theatre can be a hot, stressful place to work, and knowing what the surgeon will need next makes assisting much easier. This webinar uses videos of common procedures, including a spay, a castration, stifle surgery (TPLO) and abdominal surgery, and stops at key points to ask what the surgeon is trying to see or achieve and what they are likely to need.
It covers points such as keeping the surgical field visible, retraction and the need to be aware of nerves, and finishes with a tiger surgery to consider whether anything changes for a different species.
Presented by Philippa Wilkinson as part of the ACVN webinar series.
Includes the full recording (46 minutes) and the presentation slides as a PDF. Complete the course to receive a certificate worth 1 AVNAT point.
