Most scratches and escapes in the clinic come from a cat that was already telling us it had had enough. This webinar trains your eye to see those signals early, so you can change what you’re doing before the cat has to.
Natalie Woolley works through real video of cats having their nails trimmed, sitting in a hospital cage, walking into a transport carrier and moving from a carrier into a cage. Each clip is paused at key moments to point out ear position, whisker and whisker pad shape, eyes, paws, tail position and piloerection, and what they tell you about how the cat is feeling.
You’ll learn how a cat’s meow changes as it becomes distressed, the stress signals that are easy to miss such as lip licking and swallowing, why cats try to escape the moment a cage door opens, and how to pick up, carry and settle a friendly cat with as little stress as possible.
