This webinar follows Bruno, a 30 kg Labrador with a cranial cruciate ligament rupture, to explain why surgical repair usually gives better outcomes than non-surgical treatment. It covers what happens to an unstable stifle if left untreated, then divides the repair options into ligament replacement techniques and osteotomy-based techniques.
It works through the De Angelis repair, Tightrope®, tibial wedge osteotomy, triple tibial osteotomy, modified Marquet procedure, tibial tuberosity advancement and tibial plateau levelling osteotomy, with the pros and cons of each. It finishes by returning to Bruno and deciding which technique suits him best.
Presented by Jess Male as part of the ACVN webinar series.
