Chronic kidney disease is common in older cats and a leading cause of death in geriatric cats. This webinar explains how CKD progresses, including acute on chronic episodes, and what changes to expect in SDMA, urine concentration, urea, creatinine and phosphorus as nephrons are lost. It then looks at nutrition in CKD and in senior cats, including energy needs, weight loss, the key features of renal diets, phosphate control and binders, and the water-soluble nutrients lost through polyuria.

Presented by Nicola Lakeman as part of the ACVN 2025 webinar series.
