This interactive webinar follows the path of blood through the heart, chamber by chamber, using riddles and questions to unlock each step. It covers the structures of the heart, the cells that make it work, the role of the SA and AV nodes, and how the tricuspid, pulmonary, mitral and aortic valves keep blood moving in one direction.
For each chamber it looks at the conditions and signs you may see in practice, including tricuspid and mitral valve disease, atrial enlargement and its ECG changes, heartworm, and hypertrophic and dilated cardiomyopathy. It finishes by explaining diastole and systole and recapping the full circuit from the vena cava to the aorta.
Presented by Cherie Murdoch as part of the ACVN 2025 webinar series.
