This webinar explains how to set up and work within an isolation area, including in a clinic with no designated isolation ward. It covers demarcation and why boundaries matter, choosing between footbaths and shoe covers, when to walk through a footbath going in or coming out, and how to read “1 in 100” and “1 to 100” disinfectant dilutions.
It then works through choosing PPE by route of transmission, hand washing, and the order for putting on and taking off PPE. It finishes with limiting handling, dedicating equipment and nurses to isolation patients, and the wider infection control procedures a clinic can put in place.
Presented by Jennifer Peart as part of the ACVN webinar series.
