ISBAR is a standardised way to pass on patient information clearly and reduce the risk of human error. This webinar explains why it is used and works through each part: identifying yourself and your patient, the situation, the relevant background, the assessment, and the recommendation, with examples from the wards.
It then looks at an example of an internal handover, what went wrong and what was done well. It finishes with why you should always double check or ask questions when you are unsure.
Presented by Laura McConnell at the 2021 ACVN Student Conference.
Includes the full recording (35 minutes), the presentation slides as a PDF, and a quiz. Pass the quiz to receive a certificate worth 1 AVNAT point.
