This webinar explains the hierarchy of risk control, from elimination at the top through substitution, isolation, engineering and administration down to personal protective equipment (PPE). It covers the question to ask at each level and why PPE, though the last choice, is often the most common control in a workplace.
It then applies the hierarchy to radiation safety in the veterinary clinic, working through which controls are and aren’t possible for X-rays, and finishes with the PPE and other measures that keep staff safer when taking radiographs.
Presented by Sami Lewis as part of the ACVN webinar series.
Includes the full recording (23 minutes), the presentation slides as a PDF, and a quiz. Pass the quiz to receive a certificate worth 1 AVNAT point.
